Show your commitment to shift urgently towards people centric city design and to move away from car centric cities with this sticker on your bike, coffee mug, thermo bottle, laptop or whatever. Cities can be a lot friendlier, greener, cooler and more liveable or even a great place to be in, if designed with pedestrians, cyclists and not in the last place trees and other greenery in mind.
This design is based on the bomb kicking lady (without a bike) designed in 1981 by the Dutch artist Opland (Robert Wout 1928 - 2001). I printed the original, changed the bomb into a car by just adding wheels and a roof to the bomb Opland drew and added a bicycle to it. Not fully convinced by this first sketch I drew it took a year or more before the next step. My best friend, former mechanic in my bikeshop and namesake Vincent van Amstel hand drew a copy based on the photo of my design on his phone. He did this on a bamboe plate with a marker. Both of them he had found in a pile of discarded mostly usable stuff dumped on the sidewalk in his neighbourhood in Amsterdam on the weekly 'trash day'. I was very surprised by his action and so happy with how it turned out that I decided this will be the version we have to turn into a sticker and probably other things too...
